SWBA 2009 Preteen Camp

Registration: Monday, June 1, 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. – in cafeteria.
Cost: $65.00 per person (including sponsors) This includes your meals, lodging, concession, insurance and T-shirt. Campers only need money for gift shop purchases.
Who May Attend: Boys and Girls going into the 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th grades.
Sign Up: Complete the Sign-up sheet and medical release form and return it and your camp fee to the person responsible for preteen camp in your church. If paying by check, make it out to your church. Each church will bring one check (made out to S.W. Baptist Association) to camp when registering the campers on Monday.
Camp Talent: CAMPER PRAISE/TALENT NIGHT is on Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m. Practice will be on Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:00 – 1:30 p.m.
Parents Night: Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Parents may eat with you at 5:00 p.m. for $3.00 (you must make reservations by noon on Tuesday). Call the camp at (580) 846-5784 or the association office at (580) 482-4798.

Lifeguard: There will be a lifeguard on duty at the swimming pool during all swim times.
Nurse: A camp Nurse will be on duty at all times during camp. Medications brought to camp should be marked clearly, and given to the nurse when arriving at camp.
I Information
1. There will be an ACTIVITY or CRAFT TIME from 1:30 to 4:25 each day. SWIM TIME is scheduled by grade (check your schedule).
2.
Each grade will meet together for Bible study, S.A.N.E., MUSIC, &
MISSIONARY time. Check the schedule in your dorm for
the group you are in. The time for each
activity is in the schedule in your booklet.
3. Parents, Friends and Campers interested in purchasing any extra T-Shirts, please see D.O.M. on Thursday night.
Camp will conclude on Thursday after Family Night.
CAMP RULES
Camp Dress Code:
1. Shirt and shoes are to be worn at all times outside of the cabins.
2. T-shirts need to be appropriate for Christian camp.
3. No midriffs or spaghetti straps.
4. Walking length shorts are O.K.
5. Bring a pair of jeans to wear mountain climbing.
6. A cover must be worn over bathing suits to and from the swimming pool.
7. Each church sponsor will be expected to see that their church group is dressed appropriately.
CAMPERS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE CABINS WITHOUT A SPONSOR.
GIRLS NOT ALLOWED IN BOYS DORM & BOYS NOT ALLOWED IN GIRLS DORM.
Mountains are “OFF LIMITS” except for organized mountain climbing in groups.
You should be involved in the planned activity of each day. You cannot stay in cabins. Sponsors, help each child find where they need to be and help them be involved.
Each time the Concession Stand is open you may get 2 items with your ticket. Get your ticket from your cabin sponsor each time. (Sponsors get tickets from assistant or camp director) Concession Stand will be open 2 times each day. YOU CANNOT SAVE UP TICKETS. The concession attendant will keep your ticket each time.
If you must leave camp, you must check out with the Camp Director, and your sponsor.
Any camper will be returned home if conduct necessitates such action.
Beds must be made each morning, and cabin cleaned. INSPECTION DAILY at 9:00 a.m. There will be a BEST CAMPER AWARD for each side of the cabins based on behavior, attitude, and cleanliness of and around their bunk.
Beds and mattresses are not to be moved.
Any camper too ill to attend classes or services will not remain in the cabin, but will stay in the nurse’s quarters and under her care.
Cans, cups, candy wrappers are not to be carried into the mountains.
State health laws require no gum, food, or drink in the pool area. NO food or drink to be taken to the Tabernacle during the worship times. The bell is used to call campers to eat, worship, Bible study, class changes and emergencies.
1. Care for the needs of your campers.
2. Cooperate with other sponsors and staff members.
3. Cooperate with the Camp Director, and work toward the success of the camp program.
4. Attend sponsors meeting on Monday at 5:00 p.m. in cabin #13/14.
5. Sit with your group in the worship services.
6. Be an example in Christian dress, speech and conduct.
7. Be alert to the opportunity to lead the lost to salvation. Do not pressure any camper for a decision, but allow the Holy Spirit to do His work.
8. Be sensitive to each camper’s spiritual status and experiences during the week.
9. You are responsible for order among your group in the cabin, dining hall, Tabernacle, etc.
10. Maintain cabin discipline with fairness. We want each one to enjoy the camp, but remember safety comes first.
11. Report all cases of willful disobedience and breaking of camp rules to the Camp Director.
12. Learn the name of each camper that belongs to your supervision.
13. Report any symptoms of illness to the camp nurse.
14. All meals will be served cafeteria style. The sponsor is expected to go through the serving line with his or her campers.
15. Churches will be assigned K.P. duty. Sponsors will organize and lead out in their responsibility.
16. Maintain cleanliness in the cabin. Encourage personal hygiene. Supervise bathroom and sleeping quarter’s cleanup.
17. See that the grounds around the buildings are free from trash and litter. Barrels are provided for this.
18. Only authorized persons are to ring the bell.
19. Sponsors are responsible for their cabin devotions each night.
